We’re so excited to celebrate our big day with you all next year! There were a few extra things that we wanted to cover before we’re all in the beautiful Bay of Plenty. First off is the wedding venue, Old Forest School is in quite a remote location and has extremely limited capacity, this has meant that we were unable to invite your little ones (children) to the wedding day however we would love to see them at the birthday lunches on Thursday and Saturday!
There is also extremely limited parking at the wedding venue and they’re really strict about parking on the street so we have organised buses to pick everyone up from Papamoa and drop you back after the wedding has finished. We will provide more information about the exact pick-up location and time closer to the date. There will also be a couple of cars at the venue just in case anyone has to leave during the wedding. The other big thing about the venue is that they have requested that no one wears stiletto heels just in case the weather turns bad and we have to have the ceremony inside of the schoolhouse (old wooden floors).
Next is our birthday lunches on the Thursday and Saturday (it’s a busy week isn’t it!), these are both completely optional so if you’re unable to make them then please don’t worry! As we’re unsure about numbers, the lunches will just be a location for everyone to get together and everyone will need to pay for their own food and drinks at the venues.
More information about what is happening and where on the 27th, 28th and 29th can be found under our Save The Date and we have also created our own Google Maps locations to help show everyone where the wedding venue is compared to the birthday lunches.
We will continue to update the website over the next few months with information about getting everyone to the wedding venue, what area in Papamoa we will be staying and anything else useful to try make everything as easy as possible for you as we know a lot of you will be travelling for the wedding (thank you!).
Lastly, although we don’t expect anything other than your presence for our wedding there will be a wishing well at Old Forest School if you’d like to provide a Koha (donation) towards our future.
